bloom

the new beach house album bloom is a damn good one. with notes of cocteau twins, yet maintaining that beautiful beach house sound - this album is a must have. it will be one of those albums that you will be playing non-stop and before you know it, summer is over and you are reminiscing over those tiny moments that made you incredibly happy. i am really excited to see them play this summer in san diego. until then, this album will be on repeat. if i were you, i would buy it today.

mellow birthdays and juice

i had a lovely birthday. spent with family during the day, and enjoyed wine with erika and brian in the eve. it was mellow, just the way i like things these days. my sister and nephews got me a power juicer for my birthday, which helped kick off a 5 day juice cleanse that hector and i started yesterday. today seems to be a little easier than yesterday hunger-wise, but i am super tired and a bit foggy. if i can get through these 5 days, i just might go for another 5. we'll see.
