raves have such a bad stigma. probably because of their association with drugs and horrific music. well, that wasn't the case back in the day. one night at a local house party where i grew up, the dj busted out with a sound that seemed to be reminiscent of kraftwerk in the best possible way. as i listened to 808 state's cubik, watching people dance, i felt super inspired and so curious. that's when it all started. the map points, the music, the incredible crew of djs, the danger of getting caught dancing in an old warehouse that was illegally broken into just so people could dance all night.
such great times. the early 90s were kind to me.
